Art on the Border

It’s the largest fine art show in the region, and it’s getting closer by the day. It’s called Art on the Border, and it will be at The Blue Lion of UAFS Downtown. This fine art show and sale will run from July 20 to July 21, and while the organizers are still finalizing plans, one thing is for sure: it’s going to be epic. If you love art, you do not want to miss this.

The Art

The organizers take art very seriously. They won’t just let anyone display his or her work. It’s strictly by invitation only. Artists can submit some of their work in an effort to get invited, but they have to stand out for that to happen.

Because of that, the organizers are able to select the best artists in the region. The artists represent various mediums. For instance, you can find jewelry and baskets here, just as you can find paintings and pottery. With such an assortment of artwork, it is easy to find something you want to buy.

The Show

This isn’t an art walk. Instead, it’s like an art show. The art is displayed in a gallery, and you are able to go in and look around. If you find something you like, you can buy it. Don’t be surprised if you find quite a few pieces you want to add to your collection. Regional artists have tons of talent, and it will be on display here.

It’s All for Charity

You love to buy art, but it’s even more enjoyable when the proceeds go to charity. The art sale will benefit the Donald W. Reynolds Cancer Support House, Riverview Hope Campus, Center for Art and Education in Van Buren, and the Fort Smith Regional Art Museum. With so many great causes to benefit, you need to take your credit card out. It’s time to buy some art!
